The Softer Side of Orange

A bit of orange~a bit of lavender~ such a pretty combination from A Creative Mint ~ once a week Melissa at Lilybeanpaperie has a challenge using a collage of color from A Creative Mint ~I loved this color combo, had planned on making a Top Note Die quilt card, but once the 1" squares were punched, I loved them as they were!  I found an embroidered flower applique in my stash of sewing and decided to add it for a softer look~I love it when my sewing supplies and my paper supplies are in "harmony" together!
On a "good" note, I am still not over the nasty virus that grabbed me, but am feeling lots better~better enough that I plan on doing a scrapbook layout to drop off at our NEW~soon to open scrapbook store...I can hardly wait!!!
Have a nice weekend!!!

More Card Creations Inspiration!!

I have been having a ball with my new Card Creations Magazine~so many inspiring cards to use as inspiration!  I choose a card from page 125 created by Julia Stainton....hers was a Sympathy card..I just loved the foldver flap on the front!  My main cardstock color is SU Melon Mambo, a great color for Spring!

Butterfly Freenzy

If you have read my previous posts, you all know I have been sick with a serious sinus infection...so have not been too  creative lately.....have pretty much been a "couch potato" for the last 2 weeks...guess I caught a virus the same time my computer did...at least I didn't "bite the dust" like my computer did...LOL...but not being one to sit still long, I have had to come up with some things I could do that didn't involve too much activity.....I purchased this wonderful MS Monarch butterfly punch, grabbed my scrap paper and had a butterfly cutting freenzy....now what the heck will I do with all these butterflies?.......think I will do a bunch of matching note cards, a scrapbook page and maybe a few giftie things...well that took about 2 minutes...now what can I do and not move my head too much???

Handmade Flowers~Think Spring

I subscribe to YouCanMakeThis.com and they had a link for the tutorial for these flowers......thought I would give it a "whirl"...went to JoAnn fabrics and bought 3 different small pieces of organza for the round flowers and they had a couple of felt remnants for the layered flower...the organza flowers you hold over a candle flame and it seals (melts) the edges......I had my candle in the sink (just for safety measures) and my hubby came in and said "what the heck are you doing".....heehee...he never "gets it"!!!  They were fun...a bit large for card making, but I plan to make a few smaller ones for other projects.......go and watch the video, but be warned......these are addicting!!!

Up and Running!!!

My first post in over 2 1/2 weeks....wow...it sure feels good to be back online....I have suffered terribly not being able to "do anything"...I have so much to catch up on!  I did puchase the new Papercrafts Card Creations.....and was so inspired to  do a few of them.....what I loved about  this issue is that every card also had the inside finished.....they are calling it "from the INSIDE OUT"....I did the card on page 65 that Teri Anderson created......I used Stampin'Up!'s hostess set "Of The Earth"....Cardstock was Apricot Appeal, Melon Mambo and of course Whisper White.
My other two cards...well, I know Valentines is over, but I wanted to share these.....the first one I used my Scallop Edge punch to cut a strip, then you run it thru your crimper to make a "ruffle"....I loved how it turned out.
The last card is using a new embossing folder from HSN, and an intricate cut from my Cricut and then some tiny punched hearts......the little tag is  the newest punch from the SU mini...the insides of these cards are "finished" as well.......come back tomorrow I have a few more  cards from the Card Creations.....!!

Another Challenge

Well, I sure didn't make it to to do all the 9 PTI challenges yesterday...but I did do another one that you can find HERE...this one was  a sketch challenge....went with the "vintage" look.....took eight photos and still could not get a good one...gloomy and snowing here...still......the sentiment looks like it is not stamped all the way, its perfect IRL...just my lovely camera skills.
Used an old vintage photo sticker, a Maya Road flower (don't you love those?) and of course my Cricut Mother's Day cartridge for the cut out.

PTI Challenge #4 For Me

I have made it to #4 of the PTI challenges today..."only" have five more to go if I want to do all.....I might still give it a "whirl".......this image comes from Becky Oehlers.......its snowing here today...so my mind went  sunshiney and bright....I used glitter pens to give sparkle and Stickles on the clouds......added a little "picket" fence......go HERE if you want to do the challenges, too!!

PTI Challenge #3 For Me!

This is my  #3 card for the PTI challenge~we were given 9 images to print and use.....my image came from Lisa Johnson's blog......you can find out more info HERE and play along too!!

PTI Challenge #2 For Me

My second card for the PTI challenge ~ this time I used an image from Niki Estes blog......you can play along with the challenge too by going HERE ..... more info is in my previous post!

Another Challenge From PTI

PTI is having their "3rd" anniversary, and a few challenges on their blog...so I decided to join in the "festivities" for the next 15 days~that's right 15 days of "fun"......today they had 9 different images to download and you could choose 1 or all 9.....I know I'll do more then one, but not sure if I can get all 9 done before 7am tomorrow, thats the deadline....there is a fantastic "gift" involved...always an enabler when you can get a "goodie"...LOL...take a peak HERE and join in the fun!!!
For this card ( and I have to say yet again, it is MUCH prettier IRL) I choose the image from Dawn McVey's blog.....I used a light green vellum and embossed it with a "Happy Birthday" CB folder...the flower is cut from my Cricut and the center (Dawn's image) is popped up even further...I know it's hard to tell...a "clean & simple" card.....more maybe later....!!

Color Me Cozy Challenge

Finally spent a bit of creative time in my "room" tonight...been busy here at the cabin  last week.....gee it's the first day of Feb. and I am in a panic.....one entire month gone~a month I had high hopes of getting lots of inside work done before Spring...not that I don't have a few months left...its just I feel I wasted most of January being cold...wrapped up in my robe in front of the fireplace trying to stay warm...I need some "pep"...so made myself get up off my :booty:  and do a bit of creating!
One of my favorite blogs Lilybeans Paperie has a challenge...you can see it HERE......the image came from "A Creative Mint" .........so here is my creation...the postcard image is stamped on a "wood tag" I purchased several years ago...the ribbon had a date on it of 2003...I think I need to go onthat "hoarder" show...well I am not THAT bad....but I do have alot of "stuff"!!......well off to visit some of my favorite blogs...see ya tomorrow...I hope!!!
