A Ticket To Ride

It's raining...barely....finally...
A good morning to create...
not a good morning for a "photo shoot"...
hence the bad photos!

I made this card for the "City Crafter Challenge"
We needed to use a "mode of transportation" and a "ticket"
how fun!!
I used a piece of my Prima 6 x 6 paper from the Sun Kiss Collection...

do you ever buy paper because of it's name??
I do...it just seems to "speak to me"....
I added a banner I cut with my Spellbinders and attached my twine with TH tiny attacher...
the birdie, flower, butterfly I pulled from my overflowing drawer of pre-made goodies...
the ticket is one I have a roll of...
I also stitched up the side of my card...I love the look stitching gives a card....
will be back later with more.....
after all its raining and I feel like doing "nothing" "houseworkie"..lol!!

all from Stampin Up...
the flower was made with some left over "cuts" from my newest Tim Holtz Alterations die
"tattered flowers"...
the bird is from a scrap collection from Joann's....
and I added some twine to finish it off!!
I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Challange...
this is the first time I have entered this challenge....
lots to look at here....lots of entries...fun!

Stretch Your Imagination

This week at Joan's Gardens the challenge is/was make a wedding card
and use black and white!

I used my Cricut cartridge "Stretch Your Imagination"
and cut my bride and groom at 4 3/4 with the "Silhoutte" feature....
I cut out a layer for the bride's dress and embossed it with the flowers....
added little pearls to the center of the flowers.....
I made a small velvet ribbon bowtie for the groom....
added some gorgeous lace trim (yes it really is white)
and a heart stick pin....
simple, but I like it alot!

I'm Back From The Holiday

I am back from my trip to our "north" home....
It's about 5 1/2 hours from here...
When we arrived the temp was 89....
the next day it was 57.....
Our county has a ban on burning anything it has (is) been so dry....
there was a wildfire in Upper Michigan.....
when we left it had burned 21,000 acres and was 10% contained.....
so sad!!
While we were North we went to a Memorial Day parade in Mackinac City....
and hit a deer on the way home.....
luckily we had the truck and not the car....
we have a broken grill, broken headlight, and bit more damage.....
the deer, well he has a sore butt for sure, but took off in the woods....

We came home to more dryness....
the grass is a "lovely" burnt yellow....
my flowers are suffering badly.....
my veggie garden looks good though....
as we had our 10 year old granddaughter water daily for us...
she did a good job...

I will be posting a few things later....
after I catch up on things here!!

Have a safe and Nice Memorial Day.....
I will be off my blog until next week...
taking a much needed vacation from my postings!!!

Rickety Rick Rack

You know I have mentioned not once, but several times my love for "gingham"....
well, I love Rick Rack just about as much....
I saw this challenge on "Catered Crop" and knew it had my name all over it...lol....
I used one of my favorite stamps from Lockhart...an apron....
stamped on another newer paper I picked up....
this one being from My Minds Eye called "Fine & Dandy"...
a beautiful 6 x 6 pad of paper that is mostly small prints!!
I cut the apron out, added a matching pocket and my "Rick Rack" along the ruffle....
the flower was made with my newest Tim Holtz Alterations die "Tattered Flower Garden"...
The sentiment is from SU called "Punch Bunch"...
I did a bit of random stitching and there you have it!!

Sharing more of my garden photos.....

These are 2 of our sister cats Tess and Chloe......
we call them the two headed cats, as they are always together.....
they were enjoying a hot 90 degree day in my bedroom window...
ignore the holes in the rose leaves.....
ALL my roses are infested with some kind of bug this year...ugh....

The second picture is of one of my roses that is just starting to bloom......

Pick A Letter ~ FTTC169

Good Friday Morning to You all!!
I have a few things to share with you today.....

I made this card last night while my hubby was baling hay.....
seems I spend lots of time alone during this time of year....
but fun, free time for me.....
I used some of my newest paper from Dear Lizzy called "Neapolitan"....
don't you just LOVE this paper.....
I stitched around it with a zigzag stitch....I sometimes love stitching on a card....
I stamped with my "Sweet Nature" set from Flourishes.....
can you believe how much this set matches the paper...perfect!!
I colored the rose in with Pebbles Cream Chalks......
I haven't used these in a while...so this was my 3rd try..."nuff" said!
I added my favortie gingham ribbon...
and a cute sentiment from Flourishes "April Showers"
I am entering this in the Flourish challenge "to pick a letter"...
and use 3 items that start with that letter....
I choose the letter "C"....
my 3 items are Cream Chalk ~ Clearly Better Ink (from TPC Sudios) ~ Cardstock

Before I go I wanted to share a couple more of my garden photos
This is a Dwarf Mock Orange.....
I will take another pic of it today, as it is really blooming now!

This is one of my favorite Iris I have (and I have over 20 varieties)....
so unusual to see the pink color Iris.

Today I am participating in a blog hop for Joan's Gardens to introduce to you a new series of flower dies from Cheery Lynn called "Build A Flower #1".

They include flower petals, flower bases, leaves and different types of stamens.
Cheery Lynn will be releasing more "Build A Flower" sets in the future to build a wide variety of flowers.
All cheery Lynn dies can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.

I am very happy to join five other very talented ladies who are particpating in this blog hop.  Cheery Lynn Designs is the sponsor and has donated a fantastic prize package with a value of $100.  All the guest designers were sent a set of the "Build A Flower #1"dies and we have posted cards today showing different flowers we created using these dies.  We hope to give you a lot of inspiration to "build" your own flowers.

Would you like to win that $100 gift package from Cheery Lynn?  All you have to do is be a subscriber to both Joan's Gardens and Selma's blogs and visit each blog in this hop, including Joan's Gardens and Selma's blogs, and leave a comment.  A winner will be selected to win the $100 prize package from comments left on one of the blogs ~ it will be a random selection.

Priss Steelman
Selma Stevenson

Joan's Gardens

Your next stop from here is Glenda Brooks Blog.

I chose to make a clematis sponging each petal with two shades of chalk ink, and if you scroll below, you can see how much this flower die resembles it......
all other dies used are also Cheery Lynn and may be purchased at Joan's Gardens as well..
Thank you for hopping along with us and good luck on winning the wonderful Cheery Lynn prize package!
