Tis The Season To Glitter

I used my Elizabeth Craft Stickers with glitter and Copics again for the
Lavender Hues Challenge at The Ribbon Girl....

These are so fun to work with and each sheet of the stickers are less then $2...
these are not normal "stickers", but just the outlines...
I have shown a page of them below....
there are so many things you can do with them
besides coloring the glitter...
but somehow I can't stop myself...lol

Well, I am off to make some Christmas tags....
one of my favorite things to do!!

Proud As A Peacock

While cruising thru the JustRite Blog I came across this challenge
"Proud As A Peacock"

I figured I had to enter it as it had an even 13 hours to go and the entry was #13
and 13 is my lucky number...lol

edited to add...my card did win as the random.org winner...happy~happy!

I used my JustRite Lace Medallion set for my peacock
and the Spellbinders Lace Medallion die to cut it with
the background paper is a Christmas paper I bought
last year to wrap my daughters gifts in...and had a scrap left
to use in my paper creating...wish it would photograph better
as it is very metallic and glittery!!
The inks used were TH Peacock Feathers~SU Lucky Limeade~And Versamark Luster

Something Exciting To Share

A few months back I was contacted by Papercraft Inspirations in the UK
that they wanted to include a card I had made in their Christmas magazine...
I don't have my hands on the magazine yet, as it takes a few weeks to get it in
the stores in the states......but I am so excited that right now I am sharing
the link HERE that tells about it....
I will share the photo later when I find the magazine here...

Also I had a pleasant surprise when we returned home from our Thanksgiving trip
that I had won the Cheery Lynn Design challenge with my winter tag in the post below!!

It was great news as, also on returning our "lovely" (and I use that word loosely)
furnace died....and its 28 degrees out...bottom line is, we have to have a new furnace installed
...Merry Christmas to us...however it was NOT on MY Christmas list.....
but hey, after all that happened on the East Coast, I should be thankful that is all
we have to worry about...right??  I have learned there is always, always someone
worse off then "you" and not to complain too much (though, that is human nature)
Well that's it...off to eat some of my big pot of cabbage~carrots~potatos~sausage I made...yum!!

Winter Wonderland

Are you getting in the Christmas mood??
It's kind of hard for me when it's been so warm  out lately (not complaining)
But, one of my very favorite things to do is make my own tags....
I usually sit down for a few afternoons and just start in, it is so fun!!

the challenge is to make a tag using at least one CLD die...
Yesterday I cut and glittered an entire "pile" of the CLD snowflowers set 1...
I also cut some pieces from the Build A flower Embellishment set 2
and glittered them as well....

I didn't use all of them, so I have a nice stock ready for further projects....
I wish you could see all the glitter better on them, they are loaded....
I use Glue and Seal from Ranger (it is always on my desk) applied with a paint brush
then coated with MS fine glitter...
the Glue and Seal is how I apply all my delicate die cuts as it dries clear!!
I also used the Holly Flourish (love this) from Cheery Lynn
the stamp is Hampton Art.....

and on a funny note, I wanted to share "KittyWitty's" photos...
I was outside the other day trying to get a good pic of a card
and this character stuck her face in my lens.....
there is a "normal" picture of her below this one
she is a "rescue" cat!

Neutrals

I won't be posting but a few more things this week...maybe thru Wed
as I will be spending time away from my computer and with my hubby....
in fact I won't even have a computer to use from Wed thru Sunday...
how will I survive??

I made this card for the Flourish Timeless Tuesday challenge to use the board
shown below for inspiration....

I used Versa Mark Dazzle to stamp my JustRite lace background and Zing Vanilla
embossing powder..... doesn't that lace stamp look real??

I also used a new favortie set of mine from Flourishes called "Country Road"
I LOVE this set and have been wanting to get inky with it!!

Well, off to get some Monday housework done...ugh...would much rather be creative...
before I go, I want to share the sunrise I happened to be up early enough to catch on camera...
enjoy!!

Falling For Trees

I made this card with one of newer and most favorite dies from Memory Box
the birch tree
when I saw this die I had to hunt for it, as it was sold out everywhere
I think it is back in stock most places now....
and I had to have it, but this is the first time I used it....

I made this card for a challenge from "City Crafters" Falling For Trees
we are to use the colors shown and have a tree on it....

my little "button" is hard to read in the photo, but it says "you make me happy"
It's different, but I love those birch trees!!

Mojo Monday Sketch 267

Remember a few weeks ago when I was coloring glitter with my Copics??
Well, this is another one I did and saw the sketch challenge #267 at Mojo Monday
and thought my cardinal would be perfect for it!!

I once again used the Elizabeth Craft stickers.....if you don't know what they are
then you are missing out...they are just an outline of an image that you use
fine tweezers to pull off and stick to whatever you want, they can be put on
card stock, glossy card stock, watercolor paper or sticky paper (which is what I did)
and then colored as you would a stamped or digital image....

I adhered mine to sticky paper and then use a transparent micro fine glitter
called "Crystal Glitter Ritz Warm Highlight"
you press it down into the sticky paper, shake of the excess and color with Copics
however, as not to damage your Copics, you do not need to press down hard to color
and immediately clean the tip of the Copic off when done.....
I use my finger for this as I find it works the best to get all the glitter off
yes, I do have colorful fingers at the time!!

Welcome Birdies

I made this card for the challenge at Impression Obsession
"Happy Fall Y'all"

I just received an order from IO and in it was this "Welcome Feathered Friends" stamp.
They have a grab bag of sorts of stamps, over 50 for $10.....
I have to say I was very pleased with the ones I received...
I used my IO Twigs Wreath die and my IO chickadee birds stamps...
I probably stamped these little birds about 6 different times before I
settled on the glitter embossing powder ones....

why don't you head on over to the IO blog and give this challenge a try...
you might win a $25 gift certificate like I did...
I have a second post for today so be sure to scroll on up and take a peek!!

Sweet Shabby Christmas

Finally some time to play in a challenge...

For today I chose the challenge at The Shabby Tea Room
"Sweet Shabby Christmas"
It's been a long while since I played in this challenge...
and it was so fun, the only hard part was deciding which way I
wanted to go with my creation as I had so many ideas popping around in my head..lol

You might have to click on the photo to get a better look at all the glitter on the trees
and icicles, my camera doesn't like glitter and sparkle...sigh...

I used a Crafty Secrets image from a booklet I received from my friend "Dar"...
it is full of gorgeous vintage images!!
the trees are 5 stacked pieces using the die from Dee's Distinctively called
"Snow Covered Stacker Tree" small which I cut 3 out.....
the top is edged with icicles from Marianne Dies
I used Perfect Pearls white Opal on the bottom....
do you see the little "ornament" in the little girls hand??
I thought it was so cute to have her "decorating" the tree.....

Flourishes Be Progressive Challenge

This week to kick off their new release, Flourishes is having a

Using the sketch provided is step 1
monochromatic is step 2
A splash of Decorative paper is step 3
and add sparkle is step 4

I used Flourishes Forest of Trees and the sentiment is from Orchid...
all cardstock is SU and my bit of designer paper is my pink cardinal....
I am sending this card to my Aunt that was just put into a nursing home
as it was such a hard decision for her, but do to chronic pain
she didn't have a choice....
I hope it will cheer her up!

Doily Pumpkin

I love how this little doily pumpkin turned out....
it is very 3D and one of those cards that is much more effective "in person"....

I used my Polynesian Sails Cheery Lynn die for the pumpkin base
by using just the inside doily as shown below....
I cut the doily 4 times to make the pumpkin

the stem flourishes I cut off from Cheery Lynn Lacey Pumpkin Corner Flourish
the pumpkin leaves are also Cheery Lynn Stacker Flower Leaf....

all cardstock is SU, as is the sentiment (isn't it great) and the die cut label as well....
the little Maple Leaves are from QuiKutz......
I am entering this in the challenge at the Cheery Lynn Design Challenge Blog

Meowie Christmas

Isn't this just the cutest???

I saw this on Pinterest and had to make it for my first (and only so far)
Great Granddaughter Paislie....
the link was to a site for kids crafts.....
I can't imagine a child making it as it was "picky"....
it did say with supervision, but still....
there is a little jingle bell buried at the top of the hat, and glitter around the sides....
Anywho, I am entering this in the challenge at Joan's Gardens
to use red~green~white...

also wanted to share a picture of our Michigan sky last night just before dark....

I had noticed that it seemed "yellow" outside and saw this beautiful sky...enjoy!!

Yellow & Gray

Good Morning.....
it is to be almost 70 here today....and then turn brrr cold next week...
kind of hard on this "old" body of mine...lol

I worked hard on this card this morning....
might not seem so, but I did....
my butterfly was embossed on white vellum....
the background paper is actually quite "shimmery"
though it doesn't show up much.....
I cut my cute little buttons with a Sizzix die
and the flower, too...the center of the flower is one of the cute buttons I cut
with a bit of added glitter for "sparkle"
I am entering this in the Papercraft Star challenge to use yellow and gray....
why don't "you" do the challenge and see what gorgeous creations
the design team has come up with..they are "wowza"
and also in The Creative Paper Trade challenge "circles"

Santa Baby

Santa Baby
For some reason that song comes to mind when I look at this card.....
and now I can't get it out of my head.....
I created this card for the challenge at Moxie Fab World
to use a journal tag in an innovative way....

I cut my tag with the TH Alterations sewing room die
and stamped the word "believe" on it....
I thought it was kind of creative...what do you think??
the little hat is a Hero Arts stamp I colored with Copics....
the skates were cut with a QuiKutz die...aren't they cute??
I love this little die....
I finished the inside as well with some holly stamps....
here is the journaling tag (from K&Company) before I cut it.....

I'll be back later with a few more things :>)

Square Peg In A Round Hole

Who says you can't put a square peg in a round hole?
That's just what I did with this card...lol
I drew a circle on my SU Shimmery White cardstock....
punched 3/4" squares and preceded to make my round/square wreath...
a clean and simple card...

I am entering this in the Moxie Fab World challenge
to create a card using squares in an innovative way...fun!!

Thinking Outside The Box

I love to think up ways to use my dies besides what they were intended for....
this little guy is no exception.....

I used Cheery Lynn Designs "Build A Flower 2" to
"build" a turkey.....
by using one of the leaves....
I can see a peacock in the future....lol

I embossed the SU Very Vanilla cardstock with a Cuttlebug folder
that has autumn words all over it, including "thankfulness"
I also used my Fanciful Flourish die also from Cheery Lynn Designs

Circles of Scrap

I am excited, as I am getting a few Christmas cards done....
this card was made of scraps.....
it is for the challenge at "The Creative Paper Trade"
Tip Top Shape #4 "Circles"...
this has to qualify, as there are 15 circles on it lol....
I had started it and had to walk away from it several times....
until I decided how to finish it....
I love the little pompom trim and felt star at the top....
I couldn't quit there, though...

I had to make a smaller version for a tag to match.....
love these challenges....head on over and do 1~2 or all 3 yourself!!

Rock A Bye Baby and a "Thank You"

I finally started using my Graphic 45 Little Darlings Stash....
why is it  "we" think we have to hoard everything...lol....
but really, sometimes I feel like I don't use it because then its gone....
but there is always more to buy...right?

Well, onto my card for today...

I made this card for a challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs "vintage"
I won the challenge last week and received a $20 gift credit at their shop....
I ordered the Spring Flower Burst Doily which I am using on this card....
look at the detail...so pretty!!
The card is a square 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch which fit perfect for the doily die...
I also made my flower from a Cheery Lynn Build A Flower #1 set....
a bit of embossing, a bit of scrap paper, a little inking along the edge of the doily,
a Graphic 45 chipboard piece, a tiny sheer ribbon and some pearls made this card...

So, Thank You Cheery Lynn Designs for my wonderful gift...I love it!!

November 3rd~what I am grateful for today....my home....I love it....after my divorce from my first
husband, I felt displaced, until we bought this place 18 years ago and made it "ours"...
after the events in the East, (and my heart goes out to all of them), it makes me appreciate what I have!!

A Warm Beverage

I love "coffee" stamp sets and this one is such a fun set from Impression Obession
"Smell The Coffee"
I used VersaMark Dazzle Champagne and embossed my image with SU Melon Mambo....
the background paper is from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kiss 6 x 6 pad....

I love this little banner on this card...it just makes me "happy"

I am entering this into the challenge at Impression Obsession "a gift"
my gift is this card I am sending to a friend....
and also in the challenge at Papercraft Star "A Warm Beverage"

I saw on a blog today that November is the month to be grateful
and to post what we are grateful for each day we post....
I am grateful that I still have my Mom whom lives alone at 85...
and I can call her anytime I want...that makes me very grateful!!

Pearly Whites

Wow, here we are into November....
time to think about getting my Christmas cards and tags made....
I make ALL my own tags...I love it...
but freak out when the package is opened and the tag is discarded....

I made this gorgeous card and flower after seeing a flower made using
the Marianne icicle die on Mihaela's blog HERE....
now be prepared for some breath taking beauty when you see her blog...
it is stunning!!

It took me awhile to find the die, as it seemed to be sold out everywhere I looked...
in fact when I bought it, they had one left after my purchase....
the center of the flower is made from the die, I cut it 3 times and rolled it up
like you do most of the strip flowers!

I am entering this into the challenge at Joan's Gardens "A Winter Card"
and

Products used are:
TH Alterations Along The Edge die Snow Flurries
Marianne dies LR0128~LR0227~LR0157~LR0135
Cuttlebug embossing folder snowflakes

Hearts

The second challenge this week at the "The Creative Paper Trade" is
 "HEARTS"....

I had so much fun creating this card....I love everything about it :>)
Can you see all the tiny little hearts in my embossed background??
they are so sweet!!
the papers I used are once again from Authentique.......
the yellow check is the back of the paper I used for the dress form....
I am sure you recognize which die the dress form is
TH Alterations Sewing Room, of course...
I hand cut my heart  from yellow wool felt and adhered a piece of
vintage jewelry I took apart (an earring)....
added a bow and some velvet ribbon flowers to the bottom of the form....
the little yellow velvet flower is one from Maya Road....
I finally quit "hoarding" them and used one.....
So, head on over to The Creative Paper Trade" and join in!!!!

November 1st Fall Door

After getting up at 3:30 am, I needed something "to do"
and noticed that the challenge at Joan's Gardens was near to closing....
so I kind of played "beat the clock"
whew...didn't think I would make it.....
the challenge is/was ...
use a window or door~I used my Cheery Lynn door die...
make a fall card~no explanation needed here..lol...
use leaves~I cut out 19 little leaves in 2 sizes and made a door wreath...
I punched a  circle, then punched around it again with a larger circle punch
to make my wreath "frame"
use a border~I used JustRite Classic Lace Edges Two for the top of my card
I added a "pumpkin" colored kitty..he is waiting to be let in from the frosty cold morning...
now if I had a bit more time, I would of inked the edges of all of those 19 leaves...oh well...

I will be later today with another post :>)
