Cheers for Father's Day

I am out of town today so this post comes to you
'scheduled'!

I have a great card that would be perfect for any man for
Father's Day or even a birthday!

I used the newly released die set from Tutti Designs

I stamped beer 'bubbles' behind the beer mug die cut....
actually the stamp is from Deep Red is suppose to be rain drops.
I always thought they looked more like bubbles to me.

I added 'foam' to the beer mug with Nuvo Crustal Drops White Blizzard.
The set comes with the beer bottle die included.

It's All Black and White at The Sisterhood

The new challenge theme at
'It's All Black and White"
and being hosted by our lovely and very talented 'Vickie'!

I decided I need a few 'masculine' cards
and went in that direction with my black and white card.

Several (and I mean several) years ago  I received in the mail a RAK
package from a friend in Canada.
In it she has all sorts of stamped images and other fun
paper crafting things.
The image I am using was one from that package.

So, that made this card come together pretty quickly!

I started with a few background papers from an Authentique paper pack,
(I love how the one paper has the rope knots on it, perfect for my cowboy)
cut with Spellbinders dies.

The image was mounted on black card stock and I added 3 silver brads.

The sentiment came from the same RAK package,
I just popped it up for a bit of dimension.

Make sure and  pop on over to the The Sisterhood
to see all the beautiful creations by my 'Sistahs'!

Wedding Wishes

It seems May is certainly flying by.
I have yet been able to get in my gardens
putting me about 2 months behind...YIKES!
It has a been a busy Spring and a very wet one,
and it has cooled down again...but better then snow!

It's the time of year where we see lots of weddings pop up.
We haven't any invites to any yet....
but I have a pretty wedding card, just in case.

The background is from a paper pad I have had for a bit.
I added a few flowers and leaves to it as well as sentiment,
but the main attraction (in my opinion)
is the pretty wedding dress.

It is a Tutti Designs Wedding Dress.
I fancied it up a bit with tiny flowers and pearls
and a beautiful background paper I purchased
from a paper pad at Hobbylobby.
It has a gorgeous embossed design in it and
it just peeks through the die cut dress....
wish the picture showed the embossing...sigh!

Well, off to clean up the 'explosion' of 'stuff' in my creative room.
I don't think anyone makes such a big mess as me!!!

Happy Father's Day

With Father's day right around the corner Tutti Designs
had a new release of all masculine dies.

I love, love this Father and Daughter die
and did a pretty simple card with it.

I used some glossy card stock and a few TH Distress inks
Broken China and Spun Sugar.

I stamped a pretty flower border on the bottom using a NBUS
from Prima.

The sentiment is from Sweet n Sassy, a set I one from a challenge.
I have always struggled somewhat with masculine cards,
don;t ask me why, but I love this cute little die and how the card turned out!

Butterfly Dance

I sometimes love a simple but yet pretty
card just using a few simple things.
It's amazing how just one die can create such a pretty card!

Not much to tell about this card,
except I used a Tutti Designs Butterfly Dance die for the focal point.
Only things added were a few gems and the background paper.
An easy mailer for sure!!

My pictures for today are more Day Lilies.....

I love the bright lemon color of this one.

Aren't the ruffled edges on these so pretty?

I will be back tomorrow with my project for

Birthday Balloons

My grandson had a 14th birthday last Thursday
and this is the bright and cheerful card I gave him.
He was actually born on Mother's day 14 years ago,
what a gift he was, the best one a mother could receive (and grandma, too..lol).

I used some pretty bright cheerful and shiny papers
and backed with a metallic paper.
and the Tutti Designs Balloon Corner for this one.
I colored each balloon in with bright Copics.

Here are my pictures for today...
These are the side view of our wrap around porch at our Lake Huron home.
We will be headed there for 6 days next week
and I can hardly wait!

See the big red star?
We had to take it down as we had a bat residing behind it!

Also a few pictures of my many Day lilies!

How do you like the fly on this one?...LOL!!

Double D Challenges Flowers Galore

Time for a new challenge at Double D Challenges and is being hosted by
'Team Darlene'.
I Design For

As usual I had to join in as I just can't resist these beautiful mood boards!

The theme, using the inspiration mood board below is
'Flowers Galore'.

Sometimes I have the best ideas for what I am going to create,
sit down at my table and do some something totally different,
which is what I did with my project here.

I thought it would be fun to pull out one of my dies I haven't used
in quite some time, my window die (all dies I have used I will list below, most can be purchased at Dies R Us).
This is such a fun die to work with, as you can create about any scene you want.
If you look real close you will see I have a kitty slightly hidden in the plants.
Do you suppose the other kitty is waiting for him to come out and play?

Another great thing about this card as I was able to use numerous 'snippets' of scraps of paper to create this!

After making my flowers, I added
Nuvo Crystal Drops Ebony Black
to the center of each.
This stuff comes in 60 colors
plus there are glitter ones and glow in the dark drops.
I love using these fun drops!

Joyful Day

A pretty sunshiny day here and going to be warm to boot!
I have a bright and cheerful card today
that I think would be great for Mother's Day.

I made a square card and covered it with a pretty
floral background.

The die cut is Tutti Designs Flourish Butterfly Corner.
Makes a statement just on it's own doesn't it?

I added a few pearls to the die cut
and a few flowers to 'pretty' it up!

Lastly a sentiment was added, one that I love!

My pictures for today come from my garden last year, I believe...enjoy!!

Annabelle Hydrangea

A few of my many varieties of lilies,
however, I don't think I will see these again
as the deer seem to have eaten LOTS of my lilies!

Nautical Banner Shape Card

New challenge starts today at Dies R Us and the theme is
'Shaped Cards".

I came up with the cutest 'banner' shaped card
using Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Banners.

I first cut a card base by laying the biggest of the nesting banner dies
over the fold line on my base with the top part
going just slightly above the fold so as not to cut through.

(This is the back)

I cut a second banner the same size as the base die in yellow card stock,
but this time cut the entire die.
I cut the next size down out of navy blue card stock.

Next, I cut just a small portion of the same size die as above
the used Impression Obsession Kite die,
I cut only the kite string die, laying it across the partial banner
to make waves.

The lighthouse was cut from red card stock and is from
Cheery Lynn Designs Lighthouses Set.

The sailboats are Impression Obsession Sailboats,
cut from white card stock, then colored in with a red marker.

To finish I added a red/white twine and bow.

Happy Birthday Cake

I have a birthday card today using a super cute
Tutti Designs die Birthday Topper.

This card basically started with the designer paper.
I had pulled a bunch of papers from my scrap bags and have them sitting on
my creative table, bound and determined to use them up.
I did a second card with this paper I will have on at a later date....
feels so GOOD to use some of this up, but I have a long ways to go lol!/

The cake image was cut from a scrap piece of glitter paper,
and I cut a few rectangles (one of which I embossed) using
the Tutti Designs Stitched Nesting Rectangle dies.

On another note, I am working my way up to a new computer,
so am slowing trying  to unload everything off this one I can.
I am moving, then deleting my pictures and sending them to Shutterfly.
I thought it would be fun to add a few (random they will be) to my
'free day' posts, so you never know what you might see next...lol
I can guarantee most will be pets and/or gardens though!

So today I have 2 to share of my kitties.
(now I am sure I have had some of these on previous posts...but it's my blog and
I can do what I want...so there...lol!!)

These are 3 of our house cats left to right
Tessie, Chloe, and Soot.

Baby picture of Tessie in the bird bath.

and my beloved Nellie that is no long with us.
Funny, but I look at her pictures and I can still 'feel' her!

May Birthday

The challenge at Fussy and Fancy is being hosted by our talented
'Darlene'
and she has chosen the theme
'Pink, Posies, and Pearls'.
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

I once again was able to incorporate a few things from my stash!

I embossed a panel of ivory card stock using an
Elizabeth EB folder 'Spring Leaves'.
This is such a beautiful Eb folder that I seem to
have covered most of it,  which I seem to be famous at doing...lol!

From my stash I pulled an already die cut, I am thinking it is a SW die
and a digital image of a mason jar (I have a thing for Mason jars) I had purchased eons ago!

In my little bag of 'pink' goodies were the rolled flowers I had made,
the little striped flower and the butterfly, along with the 'May' ticket.

The white branches and the happy birthday (from The Cutting Cafe)
were laying on my desk and seemed to fit well on the card!

A few pink pearls were added.

creations the Design Team has made, they always outdo themselves.

Welcome Baby

When working with my Tutti Designs Easter dies,
I decided to turn one of the dies into a baby card.
I love when you can use the dies other then they were intended for.

I used the Scrolly Bunny die for this card cut in pink card stock,
obviously a baby card for a girl.  Also what is obvious is
that I had a hard time photographing this card, as it is slightly darker
then this picture shows...sigh!

I added a lacy Martha Stewart butterfly from my supplies,
a few of the gingham candi dots.
The sentiment is an oldie from SU (2002),
which I used a circle punch to cut out and added a tiny gingham bow.

Encouragement

Our new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters
for the next two weeks is being hosted
by our very talented 'Darlene' and she has chosen the theme
'Encouragement'.

As usual for TSH challenge I try my best to reach into my
older stash/scraps/pre-cut things to use.

I came up with this bokah panel I had
created a long while  back and never used and also a 12 x 12 sheet of quotes I have had forever
and it seems these two were made for each other.
I love it when that happens!

Here is the panel before I covered most of it up...lol

Very simple card that I mounted the bokah panel on a scrap of light green card stock
and the same for the quote.

I added a few 'candi' dots and a piece of wheat die cut....done!

I actually like how it turned out..lol!
